When Signals Change

A signal changes when its assigned manager advances the lifecycle or the delivery record is corrected. The newest timestamped card state is authoritative; earlier screenshots are historical context.

Normal lifecycle changes

  • Pending or near becomes open when the product-specific activation rule is satisfied.
  • At risk becomes confirmed or protected after favorable price behavior satisfies the manager.
  • Active protection can move one way as the card progresses.
  • A manager event or clock closes the card.

Fields that should remain stable

Product identity, symbol, side, entry basis, manager assignment, and source evidence should not be rewritten to improve an outcome. Corrections must carry their own timestamp and audit receipt.

Fields that can update

State, active risk or protection, live price, P&L, remaining time, event hazard, and close information can change as the card progresses.

Product clocks differ

Day Trade ends inside the same session. Overnight Trade may cross into the next session. Swing Trade can remain active across days and event windows. Rapid cards display their own duration class. Do not transfer one product's clock or manager behavior to another.

An update is not a discretionary rewrite

The change should follow the manager assigned before the outcome. If a field is corrected for a data issue, the correction must remain separately auditable.

Can a card's state change while it is open?

Yes. Lifecycle state and active protection can update as the manager observes price and time.

Can the source identity be changed after a loss?

No. Identity and source evidence are part of the timestamped record and should not be rewritten to improve the result.

Which update should I follow?

The newest valid timestamped card state. If timestamps or fields conflict, pause and investigate before acting.
